David A. Boyer has been a life long resident of Waverly and a second genertion Funeral Director having served under the founder and owner of Boyer Funeral Home, Arthur H. Boyer. David Graduated from Waverly high School and continued his education at Denison University and Ohio University. He furthered his education and graduated from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science.
He has been married to the former Wilma Ann (Echard) Boyer for 57 years and they have a son, Gregory D. Boyer and wife Kristy (Cormany), daughter, Lynne M. (Boyer) Morgan and five grandchildren.
He has been licensed by the state of Ohio as a Funeral Director and Embalmer for more than fifty Years and holds an insurance license from the Ohio Department of Insurance for writing life insurance for those families who need to pay for their funerals in advance.
He is a 65 year member of the Waverly First Presbyterian church and also attends the Waverly New Covenant CCCU, is a 50 year member and Past Master of Orient Lodge #321, a 50 year member and Past Patron of Waverly Chapter #99 OES, a member of the Valley of Columbus, and Scottish Rite. He served with 216th combat engineers, Ohio National Guard for six years, was the Past President of the Waverly Chamber of Commerce, served on the Waverly City School Board for several years, and is an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes. He enjoys quiet time, working on the family farm, and holds a commercial instrument pilot certificate with several thousand hours of flight time.
Greg has been a lifelong resident of Pike County, Ohio. He graduated from Waverly High School, Continued his education at Otterbein College and graduated from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. He is married to Kristen Cormany Boyer and has a son, Derek Boyer, son, Landon Boyer and a daughter, Hailey Boyer. He is a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in the State of Ohio. He also has an insurance license by the Ohio Department of Insurance Which enables him to help those families to pay for their funerals in advance. Greg additionally is President of the Ohio Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors. He is a member of the Orient Lodge #321 F & A M, Waverly, Ohio, Aladdin Shrine, Grove City, Ohio and the Pike County Shrine Club.He is involved in the Ohio Funeral Directors Association, National Funeral Directors Association and a member of the largest cremation organization, Cremation Association of North America. Today he serves as the President of Boyer Funeral Home and Boyer Cremation Services.
I am a life long resident of Pike County, born and raised in Beaver. I played basketball throughout my years at Eastern Local High School where I graduated in 1964. Linda (Sparks) Rigsby and I were united in marriage in 1967 and we have been happily together ever since. We have two sons, Scott and Rodney, four grandchildren, Tyler, Trey, Hannah, and Gracie. I retired from the Laborer’s Union after 20 years of service. I belong to Groveport Lodge #240 F&AM since 1976 I am member of Mary Chapel Church where I served as a Deacon for many years before I was called to preach the gospel in 2003. I have worked for Boyer Funeral Home since 2007, where I enjoy helping families going through the hardship of losing a loved one, doing whatever I can to assist them in their time of need.
